Comments from the Department Head, Family and Consumer Sciences

Dr. Marilyn Corbin

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Home Page of the Department of 4-H Youth Development and Family & Consumer Sciences and North Carolina State University. Our department is unique in that our overall emphasis is to provide leadership for family-related programs and issues conducted by the Cooperative Extension Service. On our Home Page, we will provide information and resources related to issues and concerns of children, youth, and families. We provide support and resources for family and consumer educators and others who conduct education and prevention programs. We also offer professional development opportunities, program resources, scholarly information, and links to other interesting resources. All of the content on our Home Page is carefully reviewed for appropriateness and accuracy.

I would like to recognize our Home Page Committee for their planning, study, and enthusiasm in getting this project developed. They are Carol Schwab, Committee Chair and Web Master, Carolyn Dunn, Sandy Wiggins, and Wane Matthews. We hope the Family and Consumer Sciences Home Page will provide you helpful educational information. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Best Wishes for the New Year!

Marilyn Corbin
Assistant Director/Department Head
